Did you know are periods are polluting our oceans?
A tampon from a conventional company can take up to 500 years to biodegrade!
It’s been reported in the UK approximately 4.6 million (single use plastics) period products are flushed away every day.
That’s 2.5 million tampons, 1.4 million pads and 700,00 panty liners flushed down the loo every day.
The marine conservation society shared that on average, 4.8 pieces of menstrual plastic waste is found per 100 metres during a beach clean up. So for every 100m of beach there will be 4 pads, pantyliners, backing liners or one tampon and applicator.
This is what you might think of when plastic waste on our beaches comes to mind, the period products are not spoken about enough.
We have our periods once a month, so by making a few changes, us girls alone can have a massive impact!
Here’s some simple changes you can make, that will benefit the environment and you.
Organic Tampons

Period Pants

I have been wanting to try period pants for a while, but it’s something I couldn’t get my head around, something I didn’t feel I could trust.
